Ice creams and jogging

I am addicted to ice creams..!!I like jogging, all that endorphins kick is too good.. but laziness sometimes overcomes the feel good factor :)
Last time i had such heavy dose(read more than 20litres in 4-5 months) of ice creams was when i was in US. I came back to Bangalore and could int pack myself into many of my jeans ahhh.. hit the panic button, that's when jogging comes into picture. 1.5kms daily(I'll be ready to lie down and sleep by then) for few months did wonders and i was back to normal. Thank you jogging but winter is coming and no more jogging..
Then came the big sale in Spar supermarket near my place for a new brand of icecream - real fruits and nuts,no fat simply superb 'Italicks' Mrp Rs.250 for 500ml sold for Rs.59 !! I grabbed 6 ,after trial we bought 24nos of mango, melon, real pista ,vanilla, chocolate and banana flavours, thankfully we had a big freezer, all that frozen peas got kick out. We finished the entire set ,just me and my hubby, our son has allergies so none for him!!. Hubby being the regular workout sort of guy didn't put on an inch !! Yesterday i joined the joggers in the park !!

Chickpet (Bangalore,India) journey

Sewing is my new found hobby (I bought a singer 8280 last month!!). I had been searching for sewing supplies in Bangalore and was told that chickpet is the place for sewing supplies. So i was in chickpet yesterday with my husband. Beware, if you have dust allergy or can't stand crowd don't bother going there 'caz you can find the above mentioned in abundance there.
I did a search and came up with a list of shops in raja market and ended up in rajamarket in avenue road by 11am last Saturday. I didn't like what i saw there. The shops there were almost like the ones in jayanagar 4th block(vinayaka stores) with heavy price tags.
Mahadev fancy store in rajamarket:
I went ahead and bought a zig-zag scissors(75 Rs),canvas paper, jacket zip(Rs 35 for shorter length and Rs.55 for longer one), ordinary zipper few meters (Rs.25/meter)with extra for zipper runners.Laces were costly so i didn't bother buying them. I was not a very happy person, i went there thinking i will get deals of my life..!! I could have bought the same in Jayanagar 4th block vinayaka shop.
My next agenda was printed cotton running material ,which can be measured and cut. So we started waking and here are the discoveries i made.. hope it helps fellow sewing enthusiasts.
Sanjiv Trading co:
#145, O.K road, Kumbarpet Ph:51225281
I bought big jacket zippers for Rs.10/piece(which i bought for Rs.55 in rajamarket). The catch is you have to buy in dozen or half dozen, minimum.A big roll of flat elastic for Rs.75,Vardhamn thread for Rs.75 for box of 24 spools. Long chudidar zippers 12nos of different colours really cheap,Singer needles.
Zipper collection

The cheapest beads, chamkeens/sequence i got was from the road-side vendor. He gave me a small packet of glass beads/sequence for Rs.10/packet. You can see them in the photo.

Printed Cotton
I am in love with cotton but after asking around and looking for about hours, i found 2 shops which gave me the great cotton materials.
Poonam Trading Co.
25/79,Renuka Building,A.M Lane,Chickpt cross.Ph:22266504
They have a good collection of cotton chudi sets and loose materials.I bought 5 nos of 2 meter pieces of different very good quality printed cotton all for Rs.65/meter. They gave me 2 cut pieces (<1>
Prakash corporation:
No:13, Sharada market,A.Mlane, Chickpet Cross, Opp. Laxmi sweets Ph: 41242233.
This shop didn't have much choices in running material, but what they had were very good.
I bought few of materials from here including a kurta material for my husband, price range Rs.40/meter to Rs.60/meter.

These are the materials which i bought.

The next in agenda was material for making bags, thick cotton. I didn't find any shop selling the same. So I started to look for cotton bed sheets and came up with S.N & Sons ,34,Mamulpet. This shop was an upmarket shop, with prices close to any normal shop in Bangalore but the choices were great. I bought 2 single cotton bed sheet for Rs.200 for a set-of-2 single sheets. i am yet to decide as to what to do with them. I love the prints on them..

Haa.. after hours of shopping and roaming around we were loaded with heavy shopping bags and much lighter wallets.. but we are happy.. :)
